Scent Work
Scent work allows the Tibetan Terrier to use its nose to investigate and solve a problem. Dogs search independently for specific target odors while their handlers learn to read subtle changes in behavior and trust the dog’s decisions. Our dogs have progressed from Novice through Detective level in AKC Scent Work, as well as participating in NACSW/K9 Nose Work. See more.
Man Trailing
Man trailing asks a dog to follow the individual scent of a specific person through a real-world environment. The dog leads the search while the handler learns to recognize changes in scent, direction and behavior. It showcases the Tibetan Terrier’s nose, persistence and independent problem-solving ability. Conservation Detection
Detection dogs can be trained to locate odors associated with plants, wildlife, invasive species and other conservation targets. The work requires concentration, persistence and the ability to work in distracting environments. See more.
